Stereotypes: Apple and Microsoft Trade Places

Friday, May 21st, 2010

It was so much more peaceful back when Bill Gates was playing the role of the bad guy. Popular news comic Jon Stewart hits a nail straight on the head when he claims that “Microsoft is supposed to be the evil one”. Several years ago, it was Apple that was playing the role of the underdog, providing the tech industry with a choice when Microsoft’s Windows pretty much ruled over everything else.

Now, the situation has been reversed. Apple’s products are far more closed and pre-set than anything else ever made available in the industry and even the practice gets even worse with their portable devices. The Apple iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad are just three examples of how much power Apple wields: no Flash, no multitasking –simply because Steve says so.

Google and Microsoft are the two other parties in their giant three way match up in the mobile phone industry, but none of the two are as tyrannical in presence as Apple. With a legal arm that throws out lawsuits left and right and the ever eager Steve Jobs spouting his sayings of hardly veiled vendettas against other companies, it is wonder people still bother with Apple. Find the best Apple mobile phone deals online at Moby1. You can compare iPhone deals and Apple iPhone 4 deals.

The bottom line is that Apple’s products are truly impressive. Not only do their devices sell well, they also appeal the right kind of people: more than just those who understand tech related things, but those who actually live normal regular lives. Even developers have plenty to look forward to with Apple, and right now, the main reason is because this is where the money is at (Apple is easily able to attract users that actually purchase online content).
